Being kind has never meant always saying "yes."

We can listen, understand, forgive, help, and even take a deep breath before responding—but that doesn’t mean we have to accept everything that’s done to us. Being a person with a beautiful heart doesn’t mean walking around with a sign that says, “Feel free to step all over me—I’m available!” 😄

We can speak with empathy while still clearly stating what we will not accept. We can love deeply and care genuinely for others, all while remembering one important thing: we, too, belong on the list of people we need to look after. Peace is wonderful, of course. But peace isn’t about swallowing bitter pills every single day until you’ve got an entire aquarium growing inside you. 🐸😂

We can forgive without forgetting the lessons we’ve learned. We can be patient without tolerating disrespect. We can be compassionate without allowing ourselves to be manipulated. Ultimately, perhaps true strength lies in balance: having a kind heart, but also having well-defined boundaries.

Because being a good person is a choice. Letting others take advantage of your kindness doesn’t have to be. After all, a lovely girl can be incredibly sweet—but she also knows exactly where she’s kept the courage to draw the line and say, “This far, and no further.” 😅😁
