Resting is so much more than just sleeping! 🧘

And if your greatest achievement today is just sitting quietly on the couch, don’t feel guilty. Some days, the couch deserves a medal of honor! 😂❤️

Sometimes, we think that resting simply means getting a few hours of sleep and waking up the next day with our batteries fully recharged. But that’s not always the case. Some types of fatigue can’t be fixed by a good night’s sleep—as much as we might wish there were a magic button for that! 😂 We also need to rest our minds by giving them a break from worries; our emotions by allowing ourselves to feel without having to explain everything; and our bodies by respecting their limits. We need social rest—choosing carefully who we spend our time with—as well as silence to escape from an excess of stimuli, moments for reflection, and activities that spark our creativity. Sometimes, resting means saying “no,” turning off your phone, going for a walk, jotting down a few words, listening to music, or simply doing absolutely nothing at all. And you know what? We don’t need to be constantly busy, available, or productive. Life isn’t a competition to see who can end the day the most exhausted! Learning to take care of ourselves also means recognizing what we need in any given moment. Because resting isn’t a waste of time; it’s giving ourselves the chance to keep living with more balance, a sense of lightness, and a desire to smile. And if your greatest achievement today is just sitting quietly on the couch, don’t feel guilty. Some days, the couch deserves a medal of honor! 😂❤️

With love,

Carla 🥰❤️
